Dalmanuta’s nine suites are bright and spacious and the 5 acres of garden surrounding them offers plenty of privacy and intriguing nature experiences. Dalmanuta can offer Ayurvedic treatments in a beautiful and luxurious environment with first-class service.
The name Dalmanuta is taken from the Bible and was the place where Jesus went to rest. As you can see in our Guestbook, our intention to be a healing paradise is met. Every time a guest leaves we gather around to read the Guestbook, and we can promise you that at Dalmanuta we all do our best to make you come back, not only once, but often and regularly and hence gaining a healthier and happier life.

Dalmanuta is a big beautiful garden situated along the Bentota River.
The nine suites are located in the north and the east and the pools and the juice bar is close to suites 1, 2 and 3.
Along the western border you’ll find the Ayurveda clinic built in a traditional Sri Lankan clay style as many houses on the countryside. Here you’ll also find the gym which you can use free of charge.
In the heart of the park you’ll find the Herbal garden. With its over 200 medical plants it will give you a picture of what your medicine looks like in its natural state. In the garden we also grow some of the ecological vegetables that we use in the restaurant.
South of the Herbal garden you will find the Silent garden with its ponds full of fishes and the two islands ”Island of Contemplation” and ”Secret Island”. In the evening the air here is filled with the song of crickets and in December the sounds of loving and joyful frogs.
In the south you will find Dalmanuta's first-class restaurant with its marvellous view of the peaceful river.

All suites have a sleeping area, a lounge and a veranda facing a private garden where you can relax in a sunbed or a special Sri Lankan "Hansiputto - chair” and let the outdoor fan keep you cool.
All rooms have a spacious bathroom with high pressure, non-chlorine water from our own well and an extra WC. The room is kept at a perfect temperature by the AC and the fan, and if you would like to experience the feeling of tropical night you can do so under the big mosquito net.
Every suite is equipped with a satellite TV offering a wide selection of interesting channels. There are also 400 DVD films to choose from in the reception.
Dalmanuta has a good mobil phone coverage and there is wireless Internet in the reception. The IDD phone connects you to the world and to room service. If you would like to make your own coffee or tea there is a kettle in the room and also a fridge and a mini-bar.

The hotel is also equipped with a gymnasium, table tennis squash courts, Ayurvedic health centre, medical centre, archery, pool billiard, hand foot ball, snooker and billiards, indoor games etc. The Kid's Corner at the hotel is equipped with swings, mat slides, trampoline, bicycles, tricycles, electronic toys, battery powered vehicles etc. Recreational and other facilities include 9-hole golf course and a putting green, flood lit tennis courts, mountain bicycles, boat rides in the lagoon, paddle boats, canoeing, fishing gear, water aerobics, water polo, water volley ball, gigantic swimming pool, animation programmes etc. |

Our pools are situated on a hill surrounded by palms and Jam trees. Here you can choose between the diving/swimming pool and the Jacuzzi.
Here as everywhere in Dalmanuta the wild life is plentiful. Here though bathing is only for humans, while at the river and the ponds bathing is open for all.
If the pools make up part of your external treatment the Juicy Fruit Pool Bar, built as a big wood hut, can offer you parts of your delicious Dalmanuta oral medication. |

Food is important for our health and when we eat food not right for our needs or constitution we become weakened and exposed to stress.
If you take a Pancha Karma or any other treatment your treatment plan will include diet advices to be follow while in Dalmanuta and maybe even back home. Based on your diagnosis the kitchen and the doctor will put together a frame menu for your stay and plan your participation in the Ayurvedic cocking school.
If you don’t follow a treatment program or just take one or two massages, you have the possibility to eat practically anything. Our menu offers a wide variation of dishes and is thought to give you new exciting food experiences every day, even if you stay with us for two, three or more weeks.

Your treatment starts with a thorough diagnosis of your pulse, tongue, eyes and general posture.
Our doctor will thereafter give you an insight into your own history, your present situation as well as an individual treatment plan. Your treatment also includes a basic course in the philosophy and the life and dietary recommendations of Ayurveda.
Since most of our problems come from a reduced flow of energy in our bodies the first focus of the treatment is to rinse the system through a so called "Pancha Karma". As a whole it consists of five different cleaning procedures. Depending on your personal diagnosis, your "Pancha Karma" can consist of - oil massages, cleaning of kidneys, liver, intestines, stomach, blood and facial cavities.
Beside the Pancha Karma treatment Dalmanuta also offers the whole spectrum of traditional Ayurvedic treatments as well as acupuncture, reflexology and healing.

Yoga – the basic form of selfcare - makes it possible to reach a higher level of freedom and quality of life.
Yoga is a knowledge as old as Ayurveda itself and it has always played an important roll in the treatment of most ailments and in the enhancement of balance.
In Dalmanuta, yoga is a naturally integrated part of the treatment and it is shaped after your individual needs.
To do Yoga you do not need any prior experience. Your body and personal development will decide your level and no matter if this is your first time or if you are an experienced Yogi, we hope that you will reach new levels of insight and freedom in Dalmanuta. |
