    Day 1
AIRPORT-PINNAWELA-KANDY
 
 
 

Reception and assistance at  Katunayake airport by Letstravel. Leave for Kandy. On the way, visit the Elephant orphanage at Pinnawela. Established to foster elephant calves found abandoned by their mothers. In their quest for water in times of drought, young elephants fall into pits and ravines Those who are rescued find shelter here.. Restart journey to Kandy. Reach hotel in Kandy, the cynosure of all things traditional in Sri Lanka. Tour of  Kandy city. Kandy’s main attraction is its lake situated at the centre of the town. Udawatta-kele, which surrounds the city, is a natural forest reserve. A must see is the Kandy market which is an exotic bazaar bristling with activity. Next,  a visit to the temple of the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha. Attend the performance of Kandyan Cultural Show late in the evening. Stay the night at hotel

 
    Day 2
KANDY- PERADENIYA-MATALE-SIGIRIYA
 
 
 

Soon after breakfast, visit the Royal Botanical Gardens located at Peradeniya. This is touted to be one of the best of its kind in the world housing a wide range of various medicinal, ornamental, decorative and other useful plants which number in excess of 4000 species inclusive of endemic and introduced plants. It is world famous for the largest collection of orchids in the whole of Asia. Continue travel to the Cultural Triangle. Mid-way, at Matale, pay a visit to one of the Spice Gardens and a Batik factory. Evening, rock climb at Sigiriya, a rock-fortress constructed by king Kashyapa in the 5th century, a patricidal king. It offers you a living testimony to the precious form of rare art by way of the world-renowned frescoes dubbed ‘ heavenly maidens of Sigiriya’ . Overnight at hotel.

 
 
Day 3
DAMBULLA- POLONNARUWA-DAMBULLA
   
 
   

After breakfast leave for the second capital of Sinhala kings – Polonnaruwa.  This dates back to the 11th & 12th century A.D. Gigantic man-made reservoirs dot this ancient kingdom. ’Parakrama Samudra’ is the most famous of these tanks.. This city boasts of countless monuments. ‘Gal Vihara ‘’,  Stone Temple, is a complex with the fine sculptures of the Lord Buddha in recumbent, standing and seated postures. Leave for Dambulla. En-route, call over at Dambulla rock cave temple. There you will find frescoes in caves which are older than 2000 years. There is also a colossal rock carving of the reclining Lord Buddha which is 4 meters in length. . Overnight at hotel in Dambulla
